Side Effects

The anti-anxiety drug, Klonopin, is also sold as Rivotril, but its generic form is known as Clonazepam. As with any sort of medication, it can have side effects, especially if it is not used correctly.

Klonopin is prescribed to help cure anxiety and some of the other existing bipolar conditions. It is in the drug series called benzodiazepines. It is normally prescribed and taken through a doctor’s suggestions and supervision.

But there are still possible side effects. Some of these that may occur are

  • problems talking,
  • being nervous,
  • being aggravated,
  • getting cramps,
  • being confused,
  • having a fast heart beat,
  • not being able to recognize people,
  • and not knowing what time it is or where you are after you start consuming it.

Besides anxiety treatment, it is prescribed for things like

  • epilepsy,
  • some kinds of panic disorders,
  • forms of hyperekplexia and parasomnia,
  • as well as bruxism,
  • forms of neuroleptics,
  • attacks of antipsychotics,
  • becoming spastic,
  • and developing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Users might also get hallucinations, be unable to walk properly and stagger around, be weak, have trembling spasms, or suffer from convulsions. They can even get more sensitive to pain or being touched.

Users sometimes get serious issues like being depressed, throwing up, eye problems, and other problems. If you suffer from any of the above side effects, you should tell a doctor or go to an ER immediately.

Other issues sometimes seen include

  • jaundice,
  • pale colored skin,
  • loss of memory,
  • mouth sores,
  • fever,
  • sore throat,
  • sleeping issues
  • and jerky movements of the body they can’t control.

All of these problematic side effects area possible, even though some are rarer while others are more commonly seen. It also has withdrawal symptoms if someone tries to get off of Klonopin. Being tired and feeling euphoric are the ones seen the most.

Less common are the side effects of

  • being aggravated,
  • being dizzy,
  • being tired,
  • being depressed,
  • being unbalanced,
  • having hallucinations,
  • and losing your memory

are problems less people have, but they can happen while you are on Konopin.

A few people may even have serious psychological effects while on Konopin like

  • changes in their personality,
  • ataxia,
  • and being majorly confused.

Other serious, but rare side effects are

  • liver problems,
  • excessive rage,
  • extreme seizures,
  • being psychotic,
  • panic attacks,
  • being unable to sleep,
  • sexual problems,
  • and having anxiety.

These can also happen with withdrawal of the drug.

The bottom line is that all of these side effects discussed in this article can happen if you use Klonopin. If you do get any of them, you should report it to your physician before you suffer even more serious problems.
